Garmin GPSMap 60CSx
The Garmin GPSMap 60CSx can be used in your car or boat and is easy to move between vehicles. With its large color screen measuring 3.8-inches with 480 x 320 pixels, you will be able to view maps, waypoints, charts, and street directions clearly.
If you are looking for a simple GPS device that includes maps and waypoint storage, then this unit is worth considering. An additional auto kit is included that will enhance the devices capabilities and allow you to review more detailed maps and directions.
Mapping Capabilities
This device is equipped with base maps of many US cities that include streets, tide stations, interstates, and coastlines. If you are looking for more detailed maps, you can download them by connecting the device to your home computer. Most mapping programs can be used when looking for maps of specific areas.
Popular mapping programs include MapSource CD-ROMs, software that contains fishing hot spots, and City Select when you want detailed driving directions.
When using the Garmin GPSMap 276C in your vehicle, you will be given street-by-street directions that can be heard by purchasing a special speaker for the unit. Otherwise, you will have to read the directions from the screen.
Plotting Waypoints
In addition to giving directions, this device can also store and retrieve waypoints to many locations you are interested in returning to. You can take advantage of the 3000 waypoints already installed in the unit, or you can create up to 50 routes that include 1200 way points each. Routes are reversible so you can always find your way back after a long day of hiking, fishing, boating, or hunting.
When boating or fishing, you will be able to plot the distance you have traveled, the distance to your car or hotel, and capture the exact location of fishing spots and scenic areas are located so you can return them later on.
After a fishing trip, you can download these waypoints onto your computer so you don’t lose them and save them for future use.

If you want to expand mapping capabilities, you can purchase an auto kit that includes MapSource City Select software, friction mount, marine mount, Trip and Waypoint Manager CD, and speaker that can be used to hear driving directions.
The battery life of this device is fifteen hours. You can recharge the battery using the AC adaptor provided.
